What is Accurx Scribe?
Accurx Scribe is an AI note-taking tool some of our clinicians use during appointments. It listens to your conversation with the clinician and turns it into a written summary, so your clinician can spend more time talking with you and less time typing.
What it does
- Listens during your consultation and drafts notes on the medical information discussed.
- Only relevant clinical information is captured — casual conversation or unrelated details are not recorded or stored.
- Your clinician always reviews and edits the draft before anything is added to your medical record. Nothing is saved automatically, and all decisions about your care are made by your clinician, not the AI.
Your privacy
- Audio of your consultation is never stored — it is transcribed into text and then deleted.
- Notes and transcripts are encrypted and held securely for up to 30 days (to allow your clinician time to review them), then permanently deleted.
- The system meets UK GDPR, NHS Data Security and Clinical Safety standards, and is ISO 27001-certified.
- Your data is never sold, and is never used to train AI models.
- Only your care team can access your information.
Your choice
Using Accurx Scribe is entirely optional and will never affect the care you receive.
- If you don't want it used in your appointment, simply tell the clinician you're seeing at the start of the consultation.
- If you'd like a permanent note on your record so it isn't offered to you at future appointments, please let reception know and they will add an alert for you.
Questions?
Ask your clinician or a member of our reception team — they're happy to explain more about how Accurx Scribe works.
